Anything Else or Everything: Photo Diaries
Peter LančaričThe photos and entries included in the book are selected from a rich personal archive spanning from 2012 to 2016. This was a period of substantial changes in my life, starting with an identity crisis and ending with a different identity crisis. One small camera and a diary became a therapeutic tool for introspection. The analogue photos capture flashes of a cruel reality, while the diary entries serve as fingerprints of the state of my emotional well-being.
Creating a story centered around my inner life was a challenge. The book was a sort of selective game with my memory. In it, I layer and intertwine various associations, moments, and situations. Parts of the book are, to some extent, fictional, but the core remains faithful to my real experiences. It is a personal message from the past, a revisiting of the unprocessed, and an attempt to understand it. It is a story about finding oneself and simultaneously an invitation to plunge into the personal depth of existence.
