The basis for this new release is one of the most extensive collections of German uniforms from the Second World War, which is owned by the Spanish collector A. Saiz. The collection mainly consists of original pieces that are in excellent condition. The structure of the chapters is based on the everyday life of a simple soldier. In addition to the complete uniform, a large number of illustrations of collection items from all areas of everyday life are shown: food, leisure, tobacco, hygiene, cameras, documents. This book is also a richly illustrated life story of the German soldier Anton Imgrund. Private photos of his conscription, outfitting, training and deployment at the front bear unique testimony to the needs and desires, fears and deprivations of ordinary soldiers during the Second World War. The author provides a representative insight into everyday life as a soldier using pieces of uniform, equipment and weapons, but also countless personal items from all walks of life. The well-founded explanations show in detail the changes in clothing and equipment during the course of the war and their direct impact on life at the front. The book is fully equipped with color illustrations and, in addition to many detailed views, also includes interior views of headgear, jackets and much more.
