King Hu's A Touch of Zen
Stephen TeoKing Hu's A Touch of Zen is the first book-length study of a classic martial arts film from 1971- the first Chinese-language film to gain recognition in an international film festival (it won a major prize at the 1975 Cannes Film Festival) and which provided the generic mould for the latter "crossover" success of Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in 2000.
