‘Our day will come’: The CCF Escape case
Sin Banderas Ni Fronteras, Conspiracy of Cells of Fire (Συνωμοσία Πυρήνων της Φωτιάς)
It is not easy to talk about what was triggered after the arrest of the fugitive Christos Xiros, with the discovery of an escape plan to break out from Korydallos prison in Athens by Conspiracy of Cells of Fire - Imprisoned Members Cell; then the subsequent manhunt against comrade Aggeliki Spyropoulo and her detention with relatives and friends of CCF comrades, and finally, the hunger strike for over 30 days in which they put their lives at risk.
Why publish this book then? The answer lies beyond the specific events recounted here. It is located in the affinity that many of us have with the imprisoned memebrs of Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, sharing the same stance of confrontation with power, together with many comrades around the world who have never seen their faces but who recognize them staring into each others eyes in the fight for our freedom.
