杨伯峻先生《论语译注》向以注释准确、译注平实著称，是当代最好的《论语》读本之一，在学术界和读者中享有盛誉。但因其一直以繁体字本行世，也给不少读者带来了不便。为此，编者这次改用简体字出版，以满足广大读者的需求。

因为改用简体字，原来的个别注释不再适用，编者作了相应的调整。繁体字本中的《试论孔子》、《导言》、《论语词典》等，是杨伯峻先生的研究心得，欲深入学习、研究《论语》或古代汉语的读者，可参阅繁体字《论语译注》。
